The Foundation Day of the Glico Group is 11 February 1922 ‒ the day when the distinctive red box of nutrition-fortified Glico caramel was first placed on the shelf at a department store. กูลิโกะมีต้นกำเนิดจากประเทศญี่ปุ่นตั้งแต่ปี คศ. 1922 โดยสินค้าตัวแรกที่ออกสู่ตลาดคือลูกอมรมคาราเมลในกล่องสีแดง หลังจากนั้นกูลิโกะก็ได้พัฒนาสินค้ากลุ่มบิสกิต และขนมอีกมากมายที่มีลักษณะโดดเด่นและมีรสชาติอร่อยออกสู่ตลาดทั้งในประเทศญี่ปุ่นและประเทศต่างๆทั่วโลก
